The site is excavated 80mm to 100mm to remove grass and soft topsoil, a commercial grade geotextile barrier goes down to stop weeds, then crushed rock and a fine crusher dust tracking layer are compacted and levelled. Only then does the turf go on, finished with brushed in kiln dried sand.

Built for Auckland sun and Auckland rain

The fibres are heavily UV stabilised so they do not fade or go brittle, and the perforated backing drains at over 60 litres per minute per square metre, which matters in a Henderson downpour.

Common questions

Is it safe for dogs?

Yes. The turf is non toxic and the perforated backing lets urine drain straight through to the base. Solid waste is picked up as normal and the area can be hosed down.

How long does it last?

On a proper compacted aggregate base, a residential synthetic lawn will generally last 10 to 15 years in New Zealand conditions.

Does it get hot in summer?

Like decking, concrete or pavers it absorbs heat in direct sun. Kiln dried sand infill helps regulate it, and a quick spray with the hose cools it down straight away.
